Role Overview
In this exciting new role, you will work with early adopter partners and clients to install, configure, and implement an innovative new security software platform currently in development. The purpose of this role is to be a primary client facing technical point of contact to lead in discovery of the technical requirements necessary to then design advanced security analytics, including presentation of the solution to the client. The Pre-sales Engineer will work with clients to build an understanding of the platform, articulate and implement various deployment models, and explain, demonstrate, and customize existing applications delivered on the platform. This activity will include product overviews, demonstrations, architecture/solution design, executing proof of concept, and proposal development.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role that requires up to 40% travel.
Core Responsibilities Include
· Ability to understand and communicate the following concepts at an engineering and executive level both internally and externally
· Understanding of Cloud applications, Cloud security, Cloud application deployment and Cloud models such as public, private and hybrid Cloud
· Understanding of container-based application and technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
· Detailed knowledge of Corporate IT Security challenges such as intrusion detection/discovery, prevention and eradication
· Building analytics using Big-Data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop
· Scripting and other technology to build proof of concept solutions
Required Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
· At least 3 years of experience in IT security, Security Operations Center, or similar job function with clear understanding of exploits and malware enterprises face each and every day.
· At least 5 years of experience in a customer facing, pre-sales engineering role
· Experience in log analysis using traditional log managers and technology such as netflow, Syslog-ng, Snare.
· Strong knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, network flows, network security, VLAN, Firewalling, WAN and Internet/VPN services
· Microsoft Windows event and log analysis experience
· Experience with Big Data, Hadoop, Apache Spark
· Coding experience in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
· Experience with Cloud based enterprise application deployment
Preferred Skills and Experience
· Completion of SANS SEC555 – SIEM with Technical Analysis course a plus
· Fluent in Japanese
· Experience with BASH, PowerShell, scripting
