Role Overview

The Endpoint Security System Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, deployment, maintenance and management of the client's Endpoint Security Solutions. Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into processes and systems.

Provide comprehensive endpoint systems support for Symantec Endpoint Protection applications which includes Antivirus, Personal firewall, Host IPS, application and device control, Symantec Protection Engine, and Host NAC.

Key Responsibilities:

· Responsible for drafting support documentation, the cross-training of operational team members and 7x24 third level support call rotation.
· 3rd level troubleshooting of issues, vendor relationship and license management, business continuity planning, capacity planning, audit /compliance, disaster recovery and platform maintenance.
· Create, modify, test, and implement approved changes to supported devices based upon customer requirements.
· Perform required and recommended system patching including: Service pack application updates, Antivirus content updates, Research and remediate alerts for virus detections requiring action, Sample submissions to antivirus vendor, Installation of new signature files based on submission, Creation of ‘Zero Day' rules to prevent spread where necessary
· Remediate device that are not compliant: Servers with signatures (N-1), Workstations with signatures (N-6), Perform manual remediation where available for devices, create incident and request tickets to Intel or Desktop teams outlining remediation steps.

As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Desired profile

Essential Requirements
·  Enrollment in, or completion of, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or Mathematics (or equivalent work experience)
·  One to three years of experience with Symatec Endpoint Protection%5CSymantec Host Intrusion Prevention or McAfee ePo%5CMcAfee VSE
·  Strong troubleshooting, reasoning and problem solving skills
·  Good Networking and Windows%5CUnix Operating systems knowledge
·  Team player with the ability to work autonomously.

Desirable Requirements

·  Symantec Endpoint Protection certified.
·  CompTIA Security +
·  ITL V3 Foundation
·  Certifications in CISSP, CCSP/CCNP & CEH would be a plus.
