DESCRIPTION

We're looking for an experienced software engineer to help us identify, create, and run processes that will maintain high levels of reliability across all our applications. You'll be working with product teams, designers, product managers, engineers, and commercial teams and will be involved in the feature creation process in order to ensure that we are keeping highest quality standards byfinding engineering solutions to mitigating risk.

As a Software Engineer (TRIM) you will:

·  Work asan integral partof our broader engineering group in a newly formed, multidisciplinary team that is tasked specifically with mitigating the risks associated with releasing and maintaining our products
·  Be willing to question the conventional understanding of software development lifecycle and define what a risk based approach to releasing fast means in a modern software company
·  Use a data driven approach tolook for the quality gaps in our products and processes and define engineering solutions to those problems
·  Be involved in creating tools for a better, faster and more reliable platform by, for example: defining critical business facing metrics we can use to alert on problems with our products and building dashboards to alert us of failures, improving A/B testing tools, improving existing CI/CD pipelines by automating different parts of the development workflow, developing techniques for testing in production, automating aggregation of user feedback, reducing code complexity, synthetic monitoring
·  Help shaping and improving the development process at all levels through automation or tooling
·  Mentor less experienced team members, helping them learn and grow
·  Be involved in the interview process as we grow the team

Things we are looking for in an engineer:

·  Ability to work in an investigative manner
·  Great verbal and written communication skills
·  Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software
·  Desire to build tools for other engineers
·  Solid experience in software engineering roles
·  Experience in or knowledge of distributed systems
·  Knowledge of microservices architecture and HTTP/REST
·  Knowledge of relational databases and key-value stores

Nice to haves:

·  Knowledge of implementing established testing methodologies within an agile workflow (continuous integration/delivery)
·  We use Ruby, Scala, Go, Python, Kotlin and Swift primarily - if you are proficient in any of these languages then that’s a bonus
·  iOS, Android or web development experience
·  Previous experience in quality or testing
·  Experience in building internal tools from scratch
·  Knowledge of Docker
·  Experience with TDD environments
