This paid internship opportunity has a biomedical focus. The Virtual Human Modeling Team within Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA Corp. (“SIMULIA”) is seeking engineering intern candidates to work on the development of high fidelity human simulation models and applications that use such models. SIMULIA, a brand of Dassault Systemes, provides powerful tools that provide a complete solution for performing and automating realistic simulations.

The Intern will not exceed 999 hours worked in a one year period from start date.

• Develop of high fidelity human simulation models
• Calibration, tuning, and QA testing of the models
• Application of the models in the solution of real world problems

RequirementsExigences

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program
• Must be enrolled in a Master of Science or PhD program for the duration of the internship; cannot not graduate or have graduated
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.3 or higher
• Work onsite at a Dassault Systèmes location; no remote or offsite permitted
• Experience in building model assemblies of moderate complexity using Abaqus technologies
• Experience in performing nonlinear finite element simulations with Abaqus technology
• Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
• Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments
• Highly organized with critical attention to details
• Ability and willingness to self-teach new and advance software functions; coaching and instruction will be provided, but we want someone who goes after knowledge
• Possess new technology curiosity and a history of self-technical education; you are not nervous about what you don’t know in technology, but excited about it due to your curiosity
• Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Access or SQL
• Strong communication skills in two parts: 1.) very strong writing skills utilizing the rules of English grammar; 2.) verbally clear, concise, and grammatically correct oral (speaking) communication skills in English
Plusses, not required
• Experience developing FORTRAN user subroutines within Abaqus
• Experience developing user subroutines for advanced materials or elements
• Experience with Isight, MATLAB, and Dymola
• Practical knowledge of medical imaging software (such as Amira, Mimics, ScanFE) and the process to create 3d geometric and finite element models
