SUMMARY
This R&D Software Localization Engineer Intern will support the daily operations of the SOLIDWORKS R&D Localization team during the high season of new product release. He/she will participate in a broad range of software localization activities, with the ultimate goal of helping the team achieve the product release milestone on time and with good quality. Throughout the internship, the Intern will have the opportunity to learn a diverse range of skills from localizing software to managing localization projects and communicating in a corporate environment.

This is a paid internship, full time 40 hours per week May 16, 2016 – August 26, 2016. The Intern will not exceed 999 hours worked in a one year period from start date.

The internship is based at Dassault Systèmes North American Headquarters at 175 Wyman Street, Waltham, Massachusetts. There is a free shuttle bus service during the morning and evening commutes between the MBTA's Red Line Alewife T stop and our office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist localization managers in different release-related engineering tasks
• Conduct technical and quality review of localization deliverables
• Conduct linguistic review and improvement of working languages
• Assess and analyze localization bugs, and execute solutions or reassign
• Process and post-process localization materials
• Perform SOLIDWORKS product installations and sanity checks
• Research, troubleshoot, and recommend solutions to complex localization problems, including optimizing localization tools and processes

REQUIREMENTS
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Localization
• Familiarity with markup languages such as HTML/XML, resource files such as *.rc, *.resx, *.js, as well as file encoding
• Working knowledge of the SOLIDWORKS application
• Basic scripting such as JavaScript, VBA, or Python
• Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
• Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments
• Highly organized with critical attention to details
• Ability and willingness to self-teach new and advance software functions; coaching and instruction will be provided, but we want someone who goes after knowledge
• Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Access or SQL
• Strong communication skills in two parts: 1.) very strong writing skills utilizing the rules of English grammar; 2.) verbally clear, concise, and grammatically correct oral (speaking) communication skills in English

• At least one additional language other than English, such as (but not limited to), French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, etc
• Advance knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint functions, and SQL
