Tasks

Objectives of the Job:
Support VCT Server Release management and patch provisioning for Windows Servers
Testing activities
Support VCT Server release management for x86 HW

Specific Knowledge
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, preferably with MCSE
· Excellent technical knowledge of management tools (e.g. SCCM, SCOM ,AD, GPO)
· Knowledge of OS and Software Deployment Methods for Windows Server, Driver Handling & Software Packaging
· Knowledge on Microsoft security concepts for obtaining customized secured OS
· Knowledge on security update management and patch deployment through SCCM
· Knowledge of x86 Server architecture and testing
· Knowledge of ITIL foundation
· Experience of large scale IT operations in a multinational company
· Very Good command of English (optional German language skills welcome)

Main Task Description

(Include key result areas of the position)
Support VCT Server Release management for Windows Servers :
As part of the ITI Virtual Competence Team Server, support Microsoft Windows Server Release management. Provide and update Roadmaps, prepare Releases, Build OS images. Communicate Information to the relevant global server community (newsletters). Support development and future releases of Server Deployment Methods.
Prepare Server Patches for Windows Servers :
Select and evaluate/test patches (Security, Hotfix, and Functional) against a defined test environment. Document findings, develop solutions, communicate patch recommendations and test results to the global server community. Track patches status via SCCM and report to ITI VCT Server.
Testing activities: Test secured customized images for Windows Server OS, Test Windows Server software updates and x86 system software
Support VCT Server release management for x86 HW: Repository management for x86 software updates, Configuration guidelines, 2nd and 3rd level hardware support, x86 life cycle planning
