Tasks
Come and join our dynamic team, and develop the aerodynamics for the next- generation fuel efficiency benchmark truck.
Within the aerodynamics team, you will be responsible for the aerodynamic analysis and layout of all Daimler Trucks & Buses products. Your assessments will be based on Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis and wind tunnel testing. You will support the aerodynamic development of Mercedes-Benz Vans and North American Truck products (Freightliner & Western Star) with CFD analysis.
Your tasks include:
- Your development work will focus on the reduction of aerodynamic drag. The tasks range from concept studies to the creation and assessment of innovations for series-products
- In close collaboration with the design, styling and on-road testing departments, you will introduce aerodynamic product measures into the broad range of truck, bus & van products
- As a member of the aerodynamics team, you will work at the European center of the Daimler Trucks international aerodynamics community, and benefit from and contribute to international collaboration
- You will constantly optimize development methods and technical concepts, and promote an exchange between the development locations worldwide
Qualifications
For the international trainee program CAReer we expect:
- A solid university degree (ideally master's degree)
- First professional work experience (18 months obligatory with a bachelors degree)
- Excellent study results
- Several months of experience abroad
- Excellent English language skills along with very good knowledge of German
Furthermore for this position you should have the following qualifications:
- You have completed or are about to complete a degree in energy technology, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics
- A major in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, or simulation is preferred
- Preferably you have an internship in applying fluid dynamic analysis (CFD), or aerodynamics at an OEM
- Knowledge of C++/Java is preferred
