Tasks
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for investigating, analyzing and correcting problems of supplier parts through collaborative partnerships within the company and with suppliers to ensure the incoming quality and functionality of these parts
Responsibilities:
Organize claims and complaints of parts issues to the supplier, coordinate with the supplier dirt point, clean point and the sorting of the supply chain and rework options. Ensure implementation and execution.
Plan all required quality-relevant activities during the claim process including requesting and approval of 8D reports from the supplier and make sure sustainable actions to avoid failures in the future are taken.
Verify the facts in the event of damages in the production or during delivery of new goods. Clarify cost schedules and resulting claims with the suppliers and take part in negotiations.
Use complex QM methods (e.g. risk management of production processes and parts, reliability forecast) and failure analysis.
Manage projects relating to your task area. Pre-structure and sub-categorize project contents, detailing and determining individual work steps/work packages. Create schedules, budgets and process plans. Create and coordinate project mandates. Control and supervise project processing. Monitor and ensure compliance with the targets (e.g. quality, costs, and scheduled dates), if needed, suggest, coordinate, introduce, and supervise remedial measures. Report on project status.

• Technical university degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or other comparable training
• 2+ years of experience in the areas of Quality Management and Series Quality Assurance as well as in other production-related units, Development, Planning, and/or Technical Procurement
• Knowledge in the application of quality methods
• Experience in the area of supplier management
• Strong data processing skills
• Strong command of spoken and written German and English
• Good knowledge of spoken and written Spanish
• Ability to work in teams
• People and persuasion skills
• Negotiating skills
• Experience in working with suppliers
• Assertiveness in difficult situations, knowledge of current moderation and presentation techniques
• Willingness for worldwide business travel of variable duration on short-term notice

Location information
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is part of the division Mercedes-Benz Vans of Daimler AG, Germany. It is a plant in South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner, with headquarters in Charleston, SC. The midsize Metris van was added to the assembly line in 2015.
Mercedes-Benz Vans announced in March 2015 that it will invest $500 million in construction of a new Sprinter production plant, in addition to an expansion of existing assembly operations. The new facility will be also located in Charleston, and will provide up to 1,300 jobs.
More than 130,000 Sprinter have been assembled in Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the third largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany and the U.K.
