Tasks

Job Overview:

Coordinate the documentation of production parts (new / changed) in the logistics systems and ensuring that those parts are available to secure production.

Requirements:

• Identify release data for production parts with complex associations including the documentation of point of use, unloading point, usage, material planer index, etc.

• Handle complex issues that cause interruption in production or over deliveries by performing root cause analysis when applicable, including the analysis/control of the inventory level

• Check documentation from development/documentation department for completeness and ensure that missing components (drawings, bill of material, etc.) are being provided in a timely fashion

• Support the implementation of logistics processes pertaining to material and information flow in the warehouse, in the supermarket and in the line under consideration of the overall concept identify opportunities for optimization

• Maintain a high degree of integrity and fairness in transactions with suppliers/logistics service providers

• May perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of automotive operations or Logistics specifically

• Knowledge/experience in planning and implementing internal logistics operations

• Ability to make connections between multiple complex issues and solve the inherent problems

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management

Location information

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is part of the division Mercedes-Benz Vans of Daimler AG, Germany. It is a plant in South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner, with headquarters in Charleston, SC. The midsize Metris van was added to the assembly line in 2015.

Mercedes-Benz Vans announced in March 2015 that it will invest $500 million in construction of a new Sprinter production plant, in addition to an expansion of existing assembly operations. The new facility will be also located in Charleston, and will provide up to 1,300 jobs.

More than 130,000 Sprinter have been assembled in Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the third largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany and the U.K.
