Good analysis helps us to determine our technology journey and our IT Business Analysts help Identify ways to exploit the use of processes and systems to resolve business issues & challenges, maximise investment, reduce operating costs and achieve objectives.

You'll analyse, document and propose solutions for large and complex business topics, preparing business requirements, functional specifications and reviewing business processes, making recommendations on solutions and working with business partners and IT colleagues to validate change impacts or sharpen specifications to create true business solutions. You'll support testing and quality assurance cycles as part of projects, resolving of third line application support issues and highlighting any potential risks. A real business consultant for change initiatives of various sizes, you'll engage proactively and introduce change management and evaluation activities. Driving and challenging business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans, you'll facilitate interaction between the Business and IT, working cross-divisional as required, to ensure business requirements are reflected correctly. Of course, you'll follow documented methodologies and processes to ensure we get the best out of the change process and deliver as per our requirements and you'll work in accordance with company compliance standards.

Qualifications

About You

You're an experienced Business Analyst with proven experience operating within complex, sometimes global projects and providing clear, objective insight into business and IT challenges. You're articulate and find it easy to provide concise overviews on detailed systems or process challenges, often to business users with limited technical knowledge. You're naturally inquisitive and you enjoy learning more about a subject so that you can critically evaluate it and recommend solutions. Organised and able to work under pressure, you like working to a plan and tracking progress to ensure delivery. You'll have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of different stakeholders across the organisation and third parties, often acting as a liaison between key groups. You're also a strong presenter and facilitator who is able to get the best from meetings or workshops, challenging requirements, ambiguity and scalability.

Key skills, knowledge and experience
- Experience of working with software/infrastructure suppliers and outsourced solution providers.

- Knowledge of web portal development, and experience of integrating social media in to the customer journey.

- Knowledge of, and an on-going interest in emerging technologies and trends and the exploitation of such to deliver key business benefit.

- Educated to degree level or higher or have the relevant business experience

- Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

- Experience of serving as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.

- Experience of developing requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

- Experience of liaising between the business units, technology teams and support teams

- Strong presentation and facilitation skills

- Ability to work under pressure and deal with many tasks simultaneously

- Ability to work in a changing environment where ambiguity exists and judgement calls are required to determine the way forward.

- Experience of working in large and complex project teams, located in multiple countries.

Desirable
- BCS/ISEB Business Analysis Diploma or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

- Knowledge of the Automotive Finance and / or Motor Insurance market

- Knowledge of ITMs product and service offering
