Tasks

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for Human Resources project management support in different Human Resources related projects and topics.

• Manage all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget

• Project steering and controlling

• Identify relevant interfaces and develop an efficient cooperation model with all parties involved

• Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones

·  Liaise with other operational areas in the organization and external contractors to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project

• Design, communicate and implement an operational plan for completing the project

• Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays

• Identify and evaluate potential risks in the project; initiate countermeasures

• Ensure knowledge creation and knowledge transfer with the relevant project members

• Conduct research and analyses

• Preset standards in processes and systems and participate in the implementation of these standards

• Organize, prepare, moderate, steer and document meetings and induce decision making

• Design presentations, decision templates and summaries

• Prepare reports to communicate the status of the project

• Report interim results to the project leader on a regular basis

• Present results to management

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, Business Education, Project Management or related area, or comparable combination of education/experience

• 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, qualification or project management in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive

• Good practical knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

• Interest in strategic topics and conceptual working methods

• Skilled in project management methods

• Preferable project management certification

• The ability to create, coordinate and communicate project results and phases

• Proactive, dedicated and structured mindset

• Interest in exploring new topics and ability to learn quickly

• Experience in organizing meetings and events

• Must deal effectively with people

• Medium or high German language skills preferred

Location information

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is part of the division Mercedes-Benz Vans of Daimler AG, Germany. It is a plant in South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner, with headquarters in Charleston, SC. The midsize Metris van was added to the assembly line in 2015.

Mercedes-Benz Vans announced in March 2015 that it will invest $500 million in construction of a new Sprinter production plant, in addition to an expansion of existing assembly operations. The new facility will be also located in Charleston, and will provide up to 1,300 jobs.

More than 130,000 Sprinter have been assembled in Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the third largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany and the U.K.
