Tasks

You are responsible from the selection to integration of suitable external cooperation partners and innovations along the complete value chain of energy storage solutions, within the areas Residential / Home battery, Industrial or Grid solutions.
You directly support the board of management of Mercedes-Benz Energy. Especially for the set-up and future vision of its international energy storage business.

Within such scope you develop own ideas, methods and concepts especially with Start-ups and High-Tech companies (mainly US or Europe-based).

You conduct technical and business assessments about possible cooperation partners within the areas of Software/ Engineering and energy storage.

You lead internal and external project groups for the development of business models and actively support the execution of such models with external top-management and internal Daimler departments.

You also set-up a new partner network with venture capital firms, accelerator and incubator programs to gain access to new partners and technology.

Qualifications

Requirements:
Study/Experience:
Bachelor or Master of Engineering & Economics or Economics or a comparable qualification.
At least 3-years experience within the segment energy storage or experience from project-/venture capital firms or investment banks focusing on renewable / energy (e.g. battery, solar, wind, etc.)

Language:
Fluent in English and German.

Personal competencies:
Entrepreneurial thinking and spirit and strong customer orientation as well as experience with Venture Capital or High-Tech start-ups. Stress-reluctant and eager and passionate about working in a dynamic team with new technologies and young companies.
Ability to travel.

The newly created department Cooperation & Innovation Management is responsible for management of cooperations, participations and development of digital business models for Mercedes-Benz Cars.
In specific, the department supports the strategic development of Daimlers newly established energy holding called Mercedes-Benz Energy, which develops and sells energy storage solutions (Residential, Industrial and Grid) world-wide.
Special focus of your task will be the identification, integration and development of innovation and cooperations, including support of mandates within possible future energy partnerships.
You will work in a young, highly dynamic team based in Sindelfingen (Stuttgart), with dedicated personal responsibility and divers global topics like being driver and initiator of digitalization or even taking mandates / board-seats, including business development of future participations.
An important issues of your daily work will be the identification, selection and validation of future technologies, partner and business models.
