With this particular CAReer position, you will launch your future career in the department “CASE Portfolio Controlling & Development”:

CASE stands for the strategic pillars of Connectivity, Autonomous driving, flexible use (Shared) and Electric drive systems which will be systematically advanced and intelligently combined.
Reporting directly to the CASE CFO, the CASE Portfolio Management department is responsible for the strategic controlling of participations and business activities within the CASE portfolio as well as also new ventures and external acquisitions.

Your tasks include:
- Developing and challenging business models for new ventures.

- Defining KPIs for management incentives and for the staged funding/investment process.

- Evaluating external investment opportunities and managing co-operations with financing partners (e.g. venture capital firms).

- The operational set-up of new legal entities and their integration into the Daimler Corporation.

- Monitoring the performance of both single entities and the CASE portfolio, reporting key figures to management and deriving recommendations.

Qualifications

For the international trainee program CAReer we expect:
- A solid university degree (ideally a Master's degree)

- First professional work experience (18 months are obligatory with a Bachelor's degree)

- Excellent study results

- Several months of experience abroad and international exposure

- Excellent English language skills along with very good knowledge of German

Furthermore, for this particular position you should have the following qualifications:
- You have preferably completed or are about to complete a degree in Business & economics, Business studies, International management, Law, Business informatics, Economics, Information technology, Computer science, Mathematics, Mechanical engineering, Software engineering, Business & engineering, Industrial engineering, Energy technology

- Preferably you already have work experience in Investment management e.g. including financial modeling, valuation, M&A deal structuring and negotiation with investment targets (e.g. at a leading investment bank or VC/PE)

- Entrepreneurship e.g. including design, setup & scale of new business models (e.g. in a technology startup)

- Strategy development e.g. in a corporate strategy department or in a top management consultancy.

- We do not require but also appreciate IT/programming skills (e.g. in C++, Java, R, Python, Stata, etc.).:
