Job Vacancy - DME HR Assistant

A vacancy has arisen within the HR department for a HR Assistant for Daido Metal Europe in Ilminster, Somerset. Reporting to the DME HR and Training Manager, the job holder will be responsible for the following areas:

1. HR Processes:

- Recruitment and new starter administration - Pre-employment administration (e.g. arranging interviews with candidates and recruitment agencies), internal forms, issuing offer letters and contracts of employment, scheduling and conducting Company inductions (also including the updating of induction documentation).

1. HR Processes:

- Internal Transfers/role change administration - Internal forms, T&C’s confirmation letter

- Flexible working request administration - Forms, confirmation letter, meetings with employees and line managers

- Leavers administration - Internal forms, confirmation letter, exit interviews

2. HR Reporting:

- Sickness and other Absence - Working time regulations report

- Ad-hoc reporting via SAGE HR, WinTA, internal HR data

3. Service contracts:

- Responsibility for tendering, renewal and day to day management of - Cleaning, Work wear and Security contracts

4. HR Software:

- SAGE HR - Updating of employee details, annual pay award update

- Win TA Tensor - Cover for administration of Time and Attendance system

5. HR support to business:

- Note taker - Disciplinary, absence, grievance meetings

- Policy advice - Advise on application of HR policies, Collective Agreements and Terms and Conditions documents to employees and managers

- Sickness absence - Manage sickness absence process including attending sickness absence meetings with managers

-Recruitment interviews - Assisting where necessary in recruitment interviews

6. Training:

- Training administration - liaison with external providers

- Scheduling - Coordinating training course times

- Maintaining skills matrices

- Training budget administration

- Develop and deliver basic training - To managers such as training on internal forms/processes

7. Occupational health:

- Liaison with occupational health providers

- Scheduling of occupational health appointments

- Updating EH&S data

8. Ad-hoc:

- Input to HR policy updates

- Process improvements

- Other ad-hoc requests as requested

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

- Strong administration and IT skills

- Ability to deal with high workload with skills in prioritisation and self-motivation

- Working effectively as a team player

- Complete confidentiality and professionalism

- Consistently high attention to detail

Salary and hours:

The salary will be between £20 and £22k depending on experience with the option of enrolment in the Company Pension scheme.

Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

The hours are full time, 37.5 hours per week, 8.00 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday, 8.00 to 13.20 Friday.
