Technical Consultant

Job description

We are looking for a Technical Consultant for our office in Cambridge, UK.

Role
As a Technical Consultant, you will be working with prospective and existing customers on system design and architecture, installation, upgrades and maintenance relating to our secure server products. A significant number of our clients, many of which are high street banks, have unique deployment requirements. In turn the role offers interesting challenges and opportunities defining the optimal setup and ongoing configuration of our solutions in close collaboration with the customer.

Working environment
You will be a member of our technical team and working closely with colleagues in Product Management, R&D, Sales, Solutions Architecture and Support (located in Denmark, Germany, USA and the UK). You will be based in Cambridge, where you will be part of a dynamic and competent team working in a friendly and spacious environment on the Science Park. The team is part of Cryptomathic’s EMEA operations, forming the company’s business backbone and you will report directly to the EMEA Director.

Our expectations of you
We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality with good communication skills and we expect you to have:

 A degree in engineering, computer science or similar (a must)

 Experience with Linux and Windows environments (also a must)

 Strong grasp of network infrastructure technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, and firewall (ideally, but not a strict requirement)

 MS SQL and Oracle Database Management Systems (also not a strict requirement)

Ideally you have previous experience or knowledge in IT security, particularly cryptography although that is not a prerequisite. You may be straight out of university. The most important factor is that you have the theoretical background and possess the potential to be a great Technical Consultant in Cryptomathic. On site visits at UK clients and some travel within EMEA must be anticipated.
