Crosby Composites is a leading carbon fibre engineering company supplying customers worldwide. We offer composite solutions for both one-off prototype components, as well as larger production runs. Our accuracy, reliability and fast turnaround time allows us to work with a large variety of industries, from high precision Formula One cars and Aerospace to the longer production runs and visual standards of automotive and medical.

The Role

This vacancy is open to graduates with some commercial experience as well as experienced Composite Inspectors. The role of Inspector is to help with all of Inspection’s daily tasks whilst adhering to Crosby Composites current procedures; which will ensure the department runs smoothly. Listed below are the main responsibilities associated with the position.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanically Inspect parts to drawing/CAD before dispatch
  • Verniers, micrometres, pins, slips and go/no-go gauges
  • Customer / part specific checks with jigs

• Visually inspect parts to customer standards

  • Carbon fibre standards

  • Lacquer/paint standards

• Ensure measuring equipment is kept in good working order
• Inform Senior Inspector of any defect picked up during the inspection process
• Inspect patterns and mandrels
  • Delcam and Geomagic software
  • 6- and 7- axis inspection arms
  • On Machine Verification (OMV)
• Help package parts where necessary

Candidates will preferably have, but not essential

• Have experience in a similar fast paced / high pressure industry
• Good communicational and written skills
• Capable of listening to and following instructions
• Capable of reaching set targets within given time
• Good knowledge about all common computer applications
• Confident and highly professional
