An excellent opportunity has arisen for a self-starting, motivated, IT Support Engineer to join a highly driven Financial Service SME. CRL is an industry leading provider of Structural Insurance with an international presence and a respected brand. They have experienced impressive growth over the years and are looking to expand their IT team to provide even better IT services and support. The IT Support Engineer will be based in our central London office.
Candidates must be self-motivated, technically strong, have at least two years IT Support experience, and be ready to join a rapidly growing IT and Systems team currently comprised of five members. You'll need to be friendly, have great attention to detail, have initiative and be able to explain technical issues to non-technical users in a way they can understand the problem and the solutions needed to resolve it. The position reports to the Head of IT.
The Role:
- You will be the first line of support for employees remotely, via email, over the phone and in person.
- Logging all new issues on ticketing system and updating existing tickets.
- Building and maintaining strong support relationships with end users.
- Updating and maintaining accurate IT System and Support documentation.
- Taking part in regular IT and Systems team conference calls and actively contributing.
- Keeping abreast of changes in the technology world to provide up to date support.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- At least two years of relevant work experience in IT network and systems administration and help desk support for small and medium sized companies.
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to work in high stress situations when needed.
- Hands-on experience with supporting a Windows based computing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows 7 and 8, and basic knowledge of Windows Server 2012 Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with Apple Mac OS X and cross platform integration.
- Experience of Office 2010 and 365.
- Understanding of basic networking including, IP addressing,DNS, Wireless, and Firewalls.
- Experience supporting VOIP telephone systems.
- Demonstrated ability with mobile products, to include a basic understanding of encryption tools and best practices to safe-guard laptops and other mobile devices for mobile employees.
- Possess excellent time management and self-organization techniques.
- Self-motivated, driven and ability to work independently and as a team
- Sharepoint customization, knowledge or experience is also a plus but not required
