Job description
Credit Suisse is seeking to hire a Product Controller to expand the team in Dublin.
Credit Suisse in Dublin began trading in early 2016. Since then the business has been rapidly growing, and 2017 is expected to see a significant increase in client and trading activity. There is therefore a requirement to expand the Product Control (PC) team to provide support and control locally. This role is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to help shape the PC function in Dublin as it evolves with the growth in activity.
The Product Control function at Credit Suisse is responsible for understanding and controlling the various business lines by substantiating the completeness, accuracy and validity of all business related corporate data. The team deals directly with various departments within the bank on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and requires in depth understanding of the business to challenge decisions and investigate issues.
Whilst this role is predominantly Prime Services focused, it will involve all businesses that are active in Credit Suisse Dublin. This currently comprises Prime Services (Margin Financing, Stockloan and Flow Trading), and Treasury functions. The role will entail extensive collaboration with a number of other teams within Dublin and across other regions, including Front Office, Risk, Operations, Financial Accounting.
Currently all regular product control processes are managed and owned in various locations globally. A requirement of this role will be to understand the business at an overall entity level, coordinating where necessary across the various regions and PC teams. Another aspect to this role will be project based / adhoc requirements relating to migrations, new business, and forthcoming IT enhancements.
Core Tasks will therefore focus on
· Daily review and understanding of the P&L at entity level.
· Reviewing the key PC control metrics for all businesses in the Entity and understanding any issues, breaks and concerns as a result.
· Regular (weekly / monthly) preparation of consolidated branch level P&L commentary for various governance forums, highlighting key points of interest or problem areas for management.
· Attending these meetings and being prepared to discuss issues or escalations.
· Review and/or preparation of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary required for regulatory reporting.
· Deepdives into issues to understand and communicate root causes, and working with various teams across the bank to develop effective solutions.
· Ad hoc analyses / UAT relating to new business or IT changes impacting Product Control.

Desired profile
· Educated to 2:1 degree level, preferably in a quantitative subject.
· Accounting or financing qualifications preferred (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA).
· 2+ years experience in Product Control or related financial control role, ideally with an understanding of Prime Services businesses.
· Product knowledge across a range of financial instruments, both Equities and Fixed Income.
· Understanding of the relevant concepts of technical accounting (USGAAP/IFRS).
· Able to self-motivate and work autonomously with additional guidance from other team members.
· Excellent written and verbal communication with an ability to explain complex subjects in a simple way and at various levels of the organization.
· Ability to develop solid networks and working relationships across the organization.
