Successful candidate will join the Trade Floor Support team based in London providing high-touch user support to the Systematic Market Making (SMG) business which trades across all the major European and US markets. The candidate will also be responsible for managing & providing production support for all SMG end user applications. The candidate will be expected to provide prompt user support for investigation & resolution of any system issues impacting front office trading flow across multiple asset classes. The incumbent would be responsible for liaising with internal as well as external teams for effective management of SMG's trading infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.

The primary key tasks will include:

· Support and maintenance of manual and algorithmic trading applications, including both GUI and server components
· Support a diverse trading environment – Windows, Linux, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase
· Ensuring all trading components are up and running before the start of each trading day
· Liaise with trading venues/ exchange in the event of a production outage
· Co-ordinate with various front-to-back teams for issue resolution
· Support the release management process ensuring stability of the production environment
· Maintenance and support of static databases and supporting processes
· Development of tools and services to continuously improve our ability to monitor the trading environment
· Development and low latency monitoring techniques feeding back to engineering

Desired profile

·  Solid scripting skills in Bash, Perl, Python is essential
·  Solid Windows desktop/server experience essential
·  Solid Linux OS experience essential
·  Solid relational database skills (in order of preference: SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase) essential
·  Experience of front-office trading desk-aligned roles essential
·  Knowledge of market data feed handlers and execution feeds desirable.
·  Knowledge of making-making/liquidity provision and algorithmic trading highly desirable
·  Knowledge of Equities, Futures, Commodities and FX asset classes highly desirable.
·  Very solid written and oral communication skills.
·  Excellent problem solving and solid business analytics capabilities
·  Support of desk-based trading applications as required
·  Prepared to start from 7.30am as a general policy, except as agreed with management
·  Evening/weekend support requirements (normally, through remote access)
