TS Enterprise Services is Credit Suisse's core infrastructure, production support, and testing services provider to the front and back office IT application development organizations (Investment Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management, and Shared Services), as well as the provider of End User technologies and support across the firm. TS is a global organization with 8,500 staff located in various geographies around the world.

Operating within TS Enterprise Services, Enterprise Services Engineering provides application and infrastructure availability, performance, event management and analytic monitoring solutions for business applications and IT infrastructure.

Enterprise Services Engineering is looking for a UNIX DevOps engineer as an integral part of our team in Wroclaw, Poland to design and deliver an enterprise wide application and infrastructure monitoring platform. The end state platform will consist of a combination of best of breed open source solutions and vendor products where necessary.

The candidate is expected to interact with internal and external technical consultants, vendor representatives and have a keen skill for researching innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Architect infrastructure, application monitoring and log analysis frameworks to provide deep operational visibility of our production systems.

• Consult with subject matter experts, support teams and operations on monitoring requirements and automation capabilities to meet business challenges.

• Understand and actively apply knowledge of general systems management solutions as defined by the ITIL framework.

• Work without supervision to project schedules and provide accurate and timely feedback for any assigned tasks.

• Have a broad understanding of infrastructure, systems management solutions and vast experience in building components based on commercial of the shelf software.

• Maintain custom infrastructure and systems to improve our ability to deploy, automate and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale UNIX environment

Desired profile

Essential

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in systems management engineering & development.

• University degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar

• Experience in infrastructure engineering, automation & support in large IT enterprise.

• Knowledge of open source monitoring systems and frameworks such as :Nagios, Sensu, Cassandra, Graphite, Icinga, Kafka, Elastic/Logstash/Kibana, etc.

• Experience in developing scripts to automate software deployments and installations

• Coding experience to support solution integration or modifications.

• One or more of the following scripting skills: Python, Ruby, Perl, Shell (Bash, CSH, KSH, BSH)

• Programming skills: Java, C, C++

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills combined with project management background

• Excellent communication skills and you can express yourself in English (written and spoken) with a great degree of confidence in presenting recommendation both for peer groups as well as management

• Experience Red Hat Linux packaging.

Desirable

• Familiarity with GIT & SVN

• Familiarity with one or more of the following: MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, ELK, Nagios, Graphite, Kafka, RabbitMQ

• Familiarity with issues tracking systems such as JIRA.

• Familiarity with application servers such as: Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, iPlanet, Websphere

• Experience with build and configuration management automation.

• Experience in Linux systems administration.

• Experience with web-based Java/J2EE architectures a plus

• Experience in open source deployment software. (Puppet, Chef, Salt)

• Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC)

• Understanding of virtualization and container technologies.

• Experience in any enterprise level systems monitoring tools, however hands on experience with BMC Performance Manager or BMC Event Manager will be considered as great asset

• Experience in software development methodologies, testing strategies and deployment and configuration management in a large enterprise environment

• Previous experience of infrastructure engineering in financial institution is highly desirable
