Job description
Job Purpose
Creative Learning Systems is an eLearning supplier who deliver online systems to help customers provide learning opportunities for their own staff and end users. We develop innovative solutions to ensure our clients get the very best out of their eLearning strategies. Additionally, we create delightful and engaging content for our clients using a variety of tools, but predominantly Composica and Articulate.
The job role is to undertake elearning authoring, client support and deployment of learning content into their systems, ensuring compliance and ongoing availability of their courses. This will involve creating new high quality, interactive e-learning materials, or editing existing content where required, ensuring it can be deployed successfully. You may need to work with the client to manage the deployment on their behalf if needed.
Person Specification
Content creation is completed using computer software including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator and other art packages, and the successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of these tools. The in-house authoring is completed using Composica (www.composica.com) and from time to time we need to also use Articulate. Some understanding of these is desirable, but full training will be given. You do not need to know Flash, but should have a reasonable understanding of web technologies such as HTML and Javascript, although you will not necessarily be required to work with these directly.
You will need a good eye for design, absolute attention to detail and the willingness to not let anything go that is only 'good enough’. Striving for excellence is a must! Much of your work will involve converting paper based resources to online learning and you will need to be creative and understand what makes effective and engaging learning activities. The vast majority of the content we create is used in adult learning situations.
You should have a good working knowledge of Moodle, or be a fast learner!
You will be able to work in a team, but also independently, and be confident in using Windows and Mac computers equally well. You will be responsible to the Operations Director.
The successful candidate will have a good eye for design, be computer literate and have some experience of online learning. Your organisational skills must be excellent and you should be able to converse with clients in a clear and professional manner.
