Event Management Internship at a Western Themed Ranch

"Cowboys and Heroes" Americana and Country Music Festival is seeking 3 interns to be a part of our event management/festival team for our up and coming event. Our venue is open all year round and is located on a 50 acre western themed ranch (www.drumcoura.ie) with 26 log chalets, a bar, restaurant, boats, jetty, tennis court, 30 stables and the largest indoor arena in the region. Our 2014 festival (www.cowboysandheroes.ie) was highly successful and we are looking to expand on this in 2015. Our internship program will run from March to the 26th of July and candidates will be part of a dynamic team tasked with promoting both the festival and corporate packages. Roles will include social media promotion, ad copy, assistance in marketing strategy, festival logistics, stage management and much more.

The role would be ideally suited to those who love horses. While not a prerequisite, assistance in the stable will allow interns to gain experience in horsemanship with our top Western riding instructors.

Interns will be provided with basic expenses and there may be opportunity to gain bar shifts for supplemental income. Each intern will be provided with a private room with ensuite in a log cabin with lake views. Transportation can be arranged from Dublin Airport.

Ballinamore is the nearest town and is 5 minutes away. The area is picturesque with lots of amenities nearby.

Desired profile

We are open to recruiting students and graduates alike from the following disciplines; event management, multi media programming, graphic design, web development or tourism. If you are not involved in one of the aforementioned courses but feel that you would still be a suitable candidate please contact us.
You will need to be proficient in all of the MS Office programs, photoshop skills are a definite bonus. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are friendly, sociable and can follow instructions. With the nature of festivals, your role will have increased pressure as the date of the event draws closer and a candidate should have the personality to deal with this.
Excellent phone skills are a must and you will be required to make some outbound calls.
