Position Description
• Responsible to the Enabling works manager for successful completion of sections of work, initially Enabling works including Travellers Site construction. Day to day control of section of works including liaising with section foremen, maintaining a safe site, compliance with safe methods of work and safety regulations
• Managing subcontractors including reviewing their RAMS
• Coordination between subcontractors on site on day to day basis maintaining safety and progress
• Detailed planning and programming of the sections of work including coordinating activities with the other sections.
• Ensure ITP’s are produced, checks carried out and records filed into handover packages
• Non-conformance reporting and ensuring close out
• Identify temporary works required, coordinate with TWC for timely production of designs
• Ensure records/diaries are kept for work performed, problems experienced, average labour force in each area, verbal comms to/from client, sub-contractor and third parties
• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Experience working at Section Engineer level within a main contracting environment
• Experience delivering civils works (RC, earthworks, drainage)
• Experience delivering s/c building packages would be ideal
• Ability to produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Ability to produce 4-weekly lookaheads

Site DescriptionContract C360 comprises the construction of intermediate shafts at Eleanor Street and Mile End Park. The shafts will provide ventilation, maintenance access, emergency egress & emergency services access of the operating railway.
Scope includes:
• Enabling works including relocation of a travellers camp, relocation of sports pitch and coach park at Mile End Park, associated highway works and diversion of utilities as required at both sites
• Construction of the shafts: Eleanor St 16.4m dia, 36m dp; Mile End Park 10.0m dia 29m dia adits between the shafts and the running tunnels
• head house above each shaft, architectural finishes drainage, external works, and landscaping,
• M&E to head houses & coordination for clients systemwide works
• maintenance until handover to the railway asset operator at the completion of Crossrail in 2018
