Position Description
• Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company’s operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented on the project/contract/framework.
• Provide operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the company’s SHE policies and processes including external stakeholders such as customers if necessary.
• Assist and provide advice to Contract Management in the understanding of stakeholders (internal and external) aims, priorities and risks with regards to SHE
• Provide operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, incidents and ill health
• Provide advice and guidance, and where necessary assist with the obtaining legal consents, licenses and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licenses and waste management licenses as and when required and as directed.
Person Specification:
Extensive experience of delivering presentations, talking in public etc
The ability to thrive in pressure situations
The ability to empathise and communicate with all people, regardless of their background or circumstances
Excellent organisations, communication and time management skills
A passion of Safety, Health and Environment
Be able to work on own initiative when required
Be computer literate
Training/Qualification requirements:
Essential:
Environmental related Degree (or equivalent)
Member of relevant Professional Institution (IEMA)
Relevant environmental experience within the construction/engineering industry
Experience in the management and training of others
Desirable:
Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MILM), Level 5

Site DescriptionCrossrail Anglia is the c.£200m upgrade of the rail infrastructure (track & electrification) and stations between (and including) Stratford to Shenfield. Scope of works includes extensive track remodelling, OLE, line of route works (HV cabling, civils, UTX's etc) and civils/building works in and around the 13 stations along the route. The project is due for completion in 2018.
