Overview:
The Commercial Vehicle Tire sales business unit is looking for Key Account Representatives (KAR) that will work in several locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. This is a field sales position and you be relocated once the training is complete.
When you are hired, you will go through a 5-6 month extensive training program to learn about Fleet approach, products, process, casing management, the market and sales tools. This training will include travel to territories throughout the U.S. to shadow and learn from current field sales managers and industry training classes. After the training program you will likely be relocated to a new territory to support.
The Key Account Representative supports fleets as a dedicated Continental resource to implement, troubleshoot, and maintain tires and technology products with the customer. Primary responsibility will be to support the assigned account. The KAR will partner with the Key Account Manager to develop and execute a support strategy for the assigned fleet(s). Secondary responsibility is to grow additional existing accounts and market share growth. By providing sales related and technical support at a high frequency basis on site, the KAR works to ensure the long term success of Continental products and programs.
Responsibilities:
• Fleet Support and Consulting: Acquire and maintain actionable knowledge about tires and related products for truck fleets. Demonstrate this knowledge to the customer in a consultative approach for all related areas of fleet management.
• Analyze and identify opportunities for implementation or improvement of fleet solutions to the key account.
• Develop and present information and analysis regarding fleet and tire performance that enables the customer to make informed product decisions. This feedback will be provided at a quarterly basis (or as needed) to the fleet management team in coordination with the Key Account Manager.
• Work with management in developing on going sales strategies and marketing ideas based on information gathered. Regularly presents findings and recommendations to sales management teams.
• Customer Relationship Management: Provide information regarding market data collection, fleet equipment monitoring studies, and competitive intelligence. Provide dealer/customer analysis report after each meeting is complete through effective utilization of all available company tools.
• Fleet Solutions: Coordinate full solutions by acting as liaison between all Continental business units across the full portfolio of products and services and key accounts.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support fleets and creates new accounts. Speaks directly with new and existing customers or clients to explain features and merits of products or services offered.
• Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services. Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required.
• Submits time and expense reports to management.
• Investigates product/service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies.
• Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management.
• Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products or services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
• Calculates and quotes prices.
• May coordinate company technical engineering support and services to ascertain customers' needs.

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma and 4+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• If required, able to relocate after training is completed
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
