Overview:
As a GM Resident Engineer within Body and Security, you are responsible for supporting projects on site at the customer locations as part of the vehicle/system development team. This includes resolving technical issues, assisting in the release processes in GM and the change management processes in both GM and Continental. You will communicate with the customer, manufacturing sites, and engineering teams around the globe in order to successfully execute the project.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist GM Lead Design Release Engineer (DRE) in defining requirements, evaluating design alternatives, verifying performance and resolution of issues for Memory Seat Module.
- Work at the customer site independently while taking daytoday direction from the Project manager/Technical project lead and GM DRE.
- Assist with the definition of system/hardware requirements.
- Evaluate design alternatives at the vehicle level.
- Resolve issues on assigned component technical specification sections and work with requirement owners. - Initiate CTS and SSTS change requests as needed.
- Assist with the resolution of system integration issues including root cause and resolution to verification and test incidents.
- Prepare and present responses to action items.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Required Education: Relevant BS Engineering Degree.
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred Education: Masters Degree.
- Preferred Experience: 5+ years.
- Experience with GM engineering processes for electronic modules.
- Previous experience in the automotive development environment (can include intern/coop).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
