Overview
3rd Shift : Duties include but are not limited to: Setting up the extruder and following the operation instructions as documented on the Extrusion Die Usage Form for the die number shown on the Production Order. Checking the extrusion with the Gauge Templetor Caliper and adjusting the extruder as required to extrude the proper size, Verifying weight, volume, and dimension of the extrusion with a scale, graduated cylinder and ruler. Cutting the extrusions to length, Inspecting each extrusion for defects and reporting any defects to their supervisor. Stacking the extrusions or laying the extrusions in a box. Filling out an extrusion iID tag and moving the completed extrusion to the correct location. This position will float to perform all duties of press operator when needed.
Core Responsibilities
(1) working with the other crew member when installing tooling in the press;
(2) setting up a ferry;
(3) changing press pad;
(4) locating and moving into place the correct uncured material roll(s) and any extrusions needed for the order;
(5) hanging and aligning the material roll on the press stand;
(6) making sure any let off mandrel chucks are locked in place
(7) threading the leaders;
(8) loading the proper core with the correct size of mandrel;
(9) insure wind up mandrel chucks are locked in place after core is hung;
(10) aligning and tacking down any VĀ­guides;
(11) following required press changing procedures when indexing the uncured material into the press and laying in any extrusions, checking any tolerances or aligning plies before closing the press;
(12) adjusting the press to the proper timed heat pressure cure;
(13) inspecting each material cure for defects and reporting any defect
(14) helping with Q.C. holds along with mapping or flagging any defects;
(15) removing rubber flash and extrusion rubber ears;
(16) cutting lab samples and identifying them on the production adhesion report;
(17) lifting and helping attach the front end of the cured belting to a core;
(18) installing the big wheels on the press wind up stand;
(19) clean tooling as needed.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications
High school degree OR GED

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience in a machine operation role
