Job Description
Support test labs (both local and remote locations) with test equipment acquisition and modification.
Programming and electrical design work for test stands.
Provides leadership, technical advice and counsel to other professionals for testing and machine control.
Designs equipment and tests to measure or monitor new products and meet cost requirements
Support product engineering and build lab with design / procurement / adjustment of equipment, control systems, process parameters, and software for prototype processes
Provide PC and PLC programming support for new and existing production processes
Interface with RD engineers, suppliers and customers on test performance specifications
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications
Supports the segment in technical customer discussions as needed.
Assures product quality by: designing test methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with company procedures and Government regulations.
Technical knowledge/ experience in:
real time data acquisition
Programming (Labview, Siemens PLC, AB PLC, c)
Electrical and air flow testing
machine control and diagnostics, HMI
electro mechanical actuated devices
Interfacing production equipment with plant network
PC and embedded based hardware
Design and analysis of electronic circuits
Manufacturing processes (laser welding, plastic welding, assembly, bobbin winding, overmold)
Ontario Hydro code
Hands on equipment troubleshooting
interfacing with equipment vendors, specifying and acquiring custom equipment
product launch
Desired profile
Job Requirements
Post-secondary degree in electrical engineering or related field
Valid driver's license and passport
Able to travel internationally as needed.
