Job Description

The Corporate HR Trainee Program offers you a unique working experience at Continental. As a member of the HR Graduate Program you will be part of a multi-cultural business team and gain a holistic picture of the professional world of HR. In 24 months you will have the opportunity to shape your own training initiatives and chart your own journey of discovery through the HR world of Continental guided by experienced colleagues, experts and mentors. The program starts from September 1st 2017.

Step 1: Introduction
The HR Graduate Program starts in Germany with a welcome week. Together with the other members of the HR Graduate Program you will take the first step. Through teambuilding activities and trainings you will have the chance to learn about professional HR project management and enhance your personal network by connecting to major stakeholders of the organization.

Step 2: Home location
After the introduction week you will spend six months at your home location. As a part of an HR team, you will complete HR business partner assignments and group assignments all addressing current topics in the HR business. You will help to develop your individual training plan to equip you with the necessary knowledge in the field of HR and major business processes of internal HR customers. The home location project is complemented with soft skill and basic business trainings to sharpen your professional, methodical and communication skills.

Step 3: Central function(HR Center of Expertise / HR Service Center)
During your six months central function rotation at one of our global or regional centers, you are able to apply and expand your HR skills while working on challenging HR topics. Your stay will be supplemented with expert trainings in major HR fields like Employer Branding & Recruiting, Human Relations Development, Compensation & Benefits, International Assignments, etc.

Step 4: Plant / Market
During this step you will be working in the HR department at one of our plants. You will gain a holistic business picture during these six months by having the opportunity to experience modern production techniques in one of Continental’s plants. At your plant stay you will also work on challenging business partner assignments and group assignments.

Step 5: Preparation for final placement
The major focus of your last six month will be on-the-job training to gain final practical experience for the upcoming placement. Depending on your individual direction this could be in a business function, center of expertise team or in your home location.

At the end of the 24-months program you will be up to speed on organizational structures as well as HR processes and products at Continental and you will have begun to form a broad personal network.

Desired profile

Job Requirements

1. University graduate with a Bachelor or Master degree in human resources, business, economics, psychology, social sciences or similar
2. Excellent English language skills
3. Practical experience through internships
4. International experience is a MUST
5. Be passionate and have strong interpersonal as well as communication skills
6. A responsible and committed team player who has high operational readinessand enjoys working in a multicultural environment
