Overview:
In this role, the incumbent will perform MES functional duties in support and delivery of advanced manufacturing and quality systems. He or she will take part in the design, analysis and programming of our manufacturing and quality IT products on schedule and in accordance with client requirements and global standards. The incumbent will work with all areas of the shop floor and its integration to other shop floor and ERP systems to resolve process and operational issues. Because of the nature of this business (i.e. manufacturing 24x7) a successful candidate is expected to perform after hours or holiday support.

Core Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Manufacturing Systems for our plants in the Americas Region.
1. Final Finish Area
MCAT/Grading ­ Material Control and Traceability with Grading
Function: Synchronization with conveyer controls and quality reporting and inspection system to rout tires to the appropriate grading and testing stations in the final finish area.
Task: Optimize material flow efficiencies within an integrated quality grading system.
FF­DACS ­ Final Finish­Data Acquisition and Control Systems
Function: Enterprise tire uniformity data collection system.
Task: Synchronization with conveyer controls and testing machines within an integrated quality system to validate customer and quality specifications at final inspection.

2. Tire Production Area
SFI ­ Shop Floor Integration of Tire Production Area
MES Function: Track trace and material flow control of the Extrusion/Preparation, Tire Build and Curing Areas integrated with SAP.
Task: Optimize material flow efficiencies within an integrated quality system (MVTS).

3. SFE
Shop Floor Execution of the Mixing Production Area
Function: Track trace and material flow control of the Mixing Areas integrated with SAP.
Task: Optimize material flow efficiencies within an integrated quality LAB system.

4. ITSM ­ Service support for Mfg applications

5. Other
• OE Shipping & Label System Architect / support

Desired profile

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements:
• BS Computer Science or Equivalent
• Functional Knowledge of Microsoft applications with SQL Database skills
• Hands on experience with Machine Execution Systems such as Rockwell Automation’s Factory Talk Production Center software or equivalent
• Application Server, JBoss/Apache­Tomcat; JBoss Cluster
• Programming experience, Java; Java Script, Visual Basic
• Multi­lingual skills a plus, Spanish, Portuguese and /or German
• 2­4 years’ experience in design and implementing manufacturing execution systems such as Rockwell Factory Talk Production Center or similar systems.
• 2­3 years’ experience in manufacturing industry and/or R&D within an IT or Business function.
• Experience in quality systems with shop floor integration experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing SAP PP, MM, PM and /or QM is a plus (Cross functional experience in some or all of these SAP modules).

Preferred Requirements:
• Interest in detailed work; high drive; results orientated; willingness to take responsibility; able to interact on multiple levels from the shop floor and up; team spirit.
• Experience in Networking and/or PLC knowledge is highly desirable.
• Having experience in an international work environment is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in a consultative or operational role leading a successfully MES engagement for or within a large global enterprise customer, preferably for a Manufacturing Client.
