Overview:
Continental is seeking a creative Algorithm Engineer for our new office in San Jose. In this role, you will be part of an international development team that develops highly complex radar algorithms. Continental's radar products will go into series production in the next few years and you could be an essential part of this team.

Core Responsibilities:
• Manage requirements of features to be developed and existing features for new customer requests
• Optimize algorithms in terms of memory and runtime
• Develop tools to effectively validate new features
• Design, develop and validate new radar algorithm features such as: environment modeling, object tracking, object classification, road feature detection, blind spot detection, automated trailer detection, and trailer length detection

Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
• Deep understanding of optimal estimation methods (e.g. Kalman filtering)
• Minimum 2 years of experience programming in C with code that is in production
• 2 years professional experience in algorithm development, (radar) tracking, or control strategies
• Proficient in scripting with python
• Proficient with Matlab/Simulink and code generation
• Familiar working with multiple types of radars
• Willing to travel internationally and domestic (less than 10% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in related engineering field, mathematics, physics or computer science
• In depth knowledge of tracking algorithms
• Proficient with Version Control Tools
• Proficient with Requirements Management Tools such as Doors
• Experience with (Automotive) Software Engineering Processes (VCycle)
• Clean driving record and willingness to work with test vehicles
