Job Description

The Machine Learning Engineer is a member of the Advanced Engineering team in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and will be responsible for the execution of machine learning based innovation projects. Innovation projects commonly involve the design, implementation, and validation of preproduction ADAS technologies to realize meaningful evaluations and demonstrations supporting production product planning.
The Machine Learning Engineer will develop solutions from real world data and apply tools to produce simulated data for the purposes of exhaustive validation and resource optimization. Advanced Engineering team members are expected to be continuously learning and improving their skill set in software engineering, embedded systems, control and estimation, radar / LIDAR data processing, computer vision, vehicle dynamics, environment modeling, and ADAS functions.
It is the mission of the Advanced Engineering team to challenge what can be done with current and future sensor suites and effectively demonstrate advanced capabilities in simulation, software, and hardware. He/she is driven by a desire to achieve new functions and levels of performance by applying existing expertise to new domains.

Core Responsibilities:
Execute advanced development projects in the area of machine learning.
Provide additional development support in one or more areas critical to ADAS:
Software architecture, programming, and networking.
General controls and sensors algorithms development
Computer Vision
Radar data processing
LIDAR data processing
ADAS function development
Vehicle dynamics
Configure and troubleshoot prototype ADAS vision systems.

Additional Responsibilities:
Professionally present technology demonstrations to internal stakeholders and external customers.
Document and patent new technologies.
Assist in the coordination of innovation activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Sciences
Motivation and ability to master several software and algorithm development domains (such as machine learning, computer vision, data visualization and embedded programming)
Good communication, team and presentation skills and be willing to work in distributed global team environment
Good documentation skills
Willing to travel (10% of the time) to support demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and global projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous professional experience (2+ years) in machine learning applications.
MS or PhD in the area of machine learning
Advanced knowledge of ADAS radar, camera, and/or LIDAR.
Existing expertise in software engineering, controls and estimation, computer vision, vehicle dynamics, and related topics.
Working knowledge of automotive networks
