As the advanced purchaser at Continental you are on the one hand the purchasing representative in the project team from acquisition phase until SOP and on the other hand the representative of the Business Unit to the commodity management in the purchasing organization, R&D and plants.

Your tasks and responsibilities include the following:

1) Commercial responsibility for the material costs of the dedicated products during acquisition and project Phase

·  Calculating Bill­-o-f­Material (BOM) in acquisition phase

·  Developing concepts of cost efficient design together with R&D to enable customer award

·  Design- ­to- ­cost activities to achieve material cost (BOM & additional targets) committed in acquisition phase (PCIS))

2) Exchange strategies and interface communication between Category purchasing and Business Unit

·  Facilitate regular alignment and communication to exchange product BU strategy and purchasing strategy by CAT

·  Maximize profitability of Business Unit by set up of competitive supplier base and component strategy)

3) Responsibility to control the supplier related milestones during the product development phase

·  Involvement of suppliers at a very early point of time

·  Continuous APQP/PPAP tracking with Supplier Quality Management and escalation towards supplier by follow-­up on supplier and material status

4) Sourcing process

·  Responsibility for request for quotation (RFQ) to suppliers by usage of the existing supplier and material strategy

·  Secure highest possible competiveness by early involving of multiple suppliers and securing sourcing process and documentation according to purchasing process Standards

·  Negotiation of the supplier prices together with category management.

5) Cost reduction programs (CRP) for dedicated BU´s products after SOP (re­design to cost)

·  The minimum salary according to the KV FEEI for this position is 36.781,36 €. Depending on your qualification and experience, your actual gross annual salary will at least amount to 45.000€

Desired profile

Job Requirements

·  Completed technical education (HTL, FH, UNI) or adequate professional experience in technical purchasing

·  Professional experience in industrial and/or automotive electronics industries (min. > 3 years) in the purchasing or R&D department

·  Good technical understanding of complex mechatronics products & components

·  High ability to understand and to express yourself in English and German

·  Good negotiation, communication, moderation and presentation skills

·  Ability to work in international and ­intercultural teams

·  Assertiveness

·  Availability for business travels
