Job Description
Overview:
The ADAS Vehicle Test and Validation group is looking to strengthen our component level testing and development with the addition of a highly motivated and technically skilled, entry level Component Test Engineer. The Component Test Engineer supports our defined projects in preparation and testing of the ADAS sensor systems against defined requirements. The ADAS Test group is involved in vehicle and component integration, development & testing of long and short range Radar, Camera vision systems, LIDAR and related advanced vehicle sensing components. We are currently developing Full Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Controls, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Object Detection and Collision Mitigation Systems.
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct component level testing and data collection per defined requirements
Perform/coordinate Component Environmental Testing (ED, DV, PV)
Provide written summaries and test reports for all test activities performed
Support the root cause investigations, post processing of data and compiling /analysis of test results
Perform basic component level mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting
Provide technical support to other internal departments, as needed
Train and mentor Intern / COOP students
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
Proficient with MS Office and basic PC skills (Word, Excel, Visio, etc)
Demonstrate automotive based electrical and mechanical ability
Ability to read and interpret Electrical diagrams, technical specifications and test procedures
Basic knowledge of SW languages: C++, Matlab, Simulink, LabView,
Excellent oral and written communication skills (Presentations, Test reports, etc.)
Work in a team environment, strong initiative, self motivated and flexible
Logical problem solver; pays attention to detail
Valid driver license
Preferred Qualifications:
Component level Test Engineering experience
Experience in component test methods and procedures (i.e. DVP&R, CS11982, GMW3172, GMW3110, GMW14241. DV and PV Testing, etc)
Knowledge of vehicle electronics, including vehicle communication systems (CAN, CANalyzer, CANope, CANoe, Intrepid products, etc.)
Knowledge of component test equipment: spectrum analyzer, frequency generators, datalogger, etc.
Knowledge of vehicle Data Acquisition systems (Computerized data logging systems)
Ability to design component interface equipment (wiring schematics for breakout boxes, etc.)
