Job description
SABSCO is a small engineering service company working mainly in the power and petrochemical industries. Our office is located in Aylesford, Kent. We are part of the Spanish group Solarca, which itself operates a number of other companies located across the world including France, Singapore, USA and Qatar.
SABSCO offers the following main services:
- Steam blowing.
- Air blowing.
- Chemical cleaning.
These services are provided to ensure that the cleanliness of piping systems, vessels or boilers meet required specifications prior to the plant being put into full operation. These services are provided mainly to newly constructed plants but are also provided for upgraded plants and for routine maintenance of existing plant.
We have an immediate requirement for a graduate engineer to join our technical department working as a design engineer and also to supervise our projects on site.
To be considered you must:
- Be a graduate in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Other experience can be considered.
- Be an excellent communicator.
- Be IT literate, with experience in using AutoCad and Microsoft Office recommended.
- Be willing to travel for UK and International meetings and site execution of our projects for periods from 1 day up to 6 weeks.
- Have experience of working in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment.
- Work at all times in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
- Have permission to live and work within the EU.
Experience or qualities that would be helpful:
- Experience of working in the power or petrochemical industry.
- Language skills in Spanish.
- Piping design and stress analysis experience including the use of Caesar 2 software.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Preparing proposals for our services to clients.
- Engineering design of our services including flow calculations, piping design and stress analysis.
- Preparing method statements and risk assessments.
- Planning and specifying equipment requirements for projects.
- Arranging shipping and transportation of SABSCO equipment.
- Supervising our projects on site ensuring that all aspects of the site operation run smoothly.
- On site preparation and maintenance of records of work performed.
- Undertaking field measurements and chemical analysis to determine effectiveness of the cleaning process.
- Maintain documentation and follow SABSCO working procedures to ensure that the company’s quality, health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Prepare final reports to be provided to the final client detailing the work undertaken.
- Communicating and coordinating with other staff from other companies within the Solarca group.
The role is full time. Holiday entitlement is 23 days pro-rata. We offer a competitive salary depending on experience. Company vehicle will be provided.
