PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Background: the Conductive Ceramics R&D develops innovative solutions in the energy and environmental field. The successful candidate will utilize his/her technical background in electrochemical testing and/or mechanical design and prototyping to support research and development projects with cross-functional, matrix teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Applying electrochemical knowledge and experimental techniques plus mechanical design expertise to evaluate device performance and materials characteristics.
- Conduct electrochemical experiments through delicate apparatus setup and carefully tuned experiments.
- Process and analyze various experimental data. Suggest and implement technical and logistical improvements in data processing.
- Utilize knowledge in electrochemical experiments and mechanical design aspects to improve test setups.
- Clearly communicating technical issues, approaches, and results in technical reports and presentations.
- Interact with the rest of R&D team and plan experiments as needed.
Tools and techniques:
1. Electrical instrumentation, data acquisition
2. High temperature electrochemistry
3. Functional ceramic materials
4. Software (LabView, Excel)
5. Statistical analysis
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Fluent in English (daily contacts with suppliers, presentations, etc…)
- Background: Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (energy, electrochemistry)
- Hands-on, creativity
- Open-minded, takes initiatives
- Ability to work in synergy with multiple groups/departments
- Ability to work with limited assistance on different topics at the same time
- Experience / knowledge in high temperature electrochemical experiments will be a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
