Internship – Equity Capital Markets

Job description

Task:

The London-based ECM team is looking for 1 -2 interns to join the origination desk. The team is responsible for the Origination of all ECM transactions outside Germany-Austria-Switzerland, as well as all Equity-Linked transactions globally. We sit in a small team (less than 10) which also includes Commerzbank's Equity Syndicate group. Whilst on the desk, the candidate(s) would be expected to support the full team while gaining the insight/experience and training necessary to become a well-rounded capital markets professional. Learning modules would include Convertible Bond capital markets and the role played by Equity Syndicate in the marketing of new issues to institutional investors. The candidate is expected to be highly numerate, with strong interpersonal skills, strong IT skills and able to assimilate and understand information in a fast moving environment.

Desired profile

Profile:

·  Currently studying towards a bachelors or masters degree or recently graduated within the last 12 months. A degree with a finance/economics or mathematics background is desirable but not mandatory
·  Expected to achieve or have achieved a minimum 2.1 UK bachelors degree (or equivalent)
·  Minimum 320 UCAS points (or equivalent)
·  A previous internship(s) within a financial institution is desirable but not mandatory
·  Fluent English is mandatory, other European languages desirable
·  A keen interest in financial markets, especially capital markets (equity or fixed-income)
·  Strong IT skills
