Job description

Summary:  
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating lowboy truck and trailers to transport heavy equipment and construction material in Wyoming and Colorado. The driver will be responsible to load construction equipment including: front end loader, crusher equipment, excavator, oversized loads, and other equipment as needed onto the trailer and transport it to work sites. 
Responsibilities:
•    Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
•    Perform daily pre- and post- trip safety inspections on truck to assure a safe vehicle
•    Document and report required maintenance and/or repair to maintenance team
•    Follow procedures for safe operation of vehicle, including securing cargo before, during, and after transit, and positioning blocks as required
•    Maintain a clean vehicle, including vehicle exterior and interior of operator cab
•    Safely and efficiently operate lowboy tractor trailers to deliver heavy equipment and construction material to job sites
•    Safely operate various types of heavy equipment during loading and unloading
•    Safely operate assigned vehicle(s); may be required to operate multiple types related to role
•    Prepare bill of lading and/or similar documentation for loads transported
•    Maintain accurate documentation related to job assignments as required by the Company 
•    Maintain driver logs according to state and federal regulations
•    Maintain regular contact with supervisor to receive pick-up and delivery instructions
•    Perform other projects and duties related to role as assigned
Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience: 
•    Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements and valid medical card required; candidates may be considered based on ability to obtain licensing 
•    Minimum 2 years of commercial driving preferred
•    Ability to maintain a clean driving record required
•    Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and other team members
•    Ability to read and write, and understand basic English.
•    Prior experience in construction or similar industry a plus
•    Prior experience hauling, loading, and unloading heavy equipment preferred 
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 
•    Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
•    Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
•    Required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods
•    Regularly required to use hands to handle and manipulate objects
•    Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) 
•    Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
•    Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
•    Frequent exposure to loud noise 
•    Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
•    Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
•    Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
