Cofely are recruiting for a Casual Visitor Experience Host to be based at ArcelorMittal Orbit, Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park, London, E20 2ST.
 
This is casual role and on offer will be a salary of £9.15 per hour. This role will report into the Visitor Experience Managers ArcelorMittal Orbit.
 
The main duties and responsibilities are:
To provide excellent levels of care and service to all ArcelorMittal Orbit visitors – striving to create a tailored experience for each visitor, as a proactive and engaged member of the ArcelorMittal Orbit team
At all times to ensure that visitors to the ArcelorMittal Orbit have a safe and enjoyable visit, in accordance with the Visitor Experience operating guidelines
To provide information and background on the view and the ArcelorMittal Orbit , encouraging interaction with the exhibits, installations etc, communicating their relevance in a lively and informative way, answering questions fully
To provide all information in a style appropriate for the visitor/s concerned
To facilitate access for visitors with additional needs, acting in line with best practice guidelines
To invigilate across the attraction as required by the Visitor Experience Management team, ensuring that all areas are clean and presentable, reporting any faults to the Visitor Experience Manager / Assistant Visitor Experience Manager, taking responsibility for the security of the exhibits, visitors, interactives, reporting anything suspicious  and ensuring that areas do not experience over-crowding
To liaise with colleagues across the attraction, to enforce the Health and Safety procedures and undertake Fire Marshal duties
To assist in the managing of queues and admissions areas
To undertake a stewarding role at events as requested under the direction of the Visitor Services Manager or designated event manager. This will include taking tickets, directing visitors, answering questions, fulfilling a fire marshal role, undertaking light furniture moving, clearing and other duties as required to ensure that events run smoothly
To work in the Ticket Office, advising visitors on ticket purchase To handle payments in accordance with the organisation’s cash handling, data protection and PCI compliance procedures
To work in the retail outlet(s), welcoming and advising visitors on products

Desired profile

Essential
Good general education (O-level / GCSE or equivalent)
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and talk clearly to members of the public and large groups of people from varying backgrounds
Capable of acting as a competent fire marshal in case of emergency evacuation (including use of evacuation chairs)
Ability to learn quickly, assimilate information at speed – the ability to hit the ground running
Demonstrable enthusiasm and passion for the ArcelorMittal Orbit
Confident, friendly and cheerful with exceptional inter-personal skills
Commitment to providing the highest level of customer service
Ability to stay calm and handle difficult situations confidently and sensitively
Smart and reliable with excellent time-keeping skills
Tactful and diplomatic
Proven ability to work well as part of a team: flexible and co-operative with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
Proactive approach to learning and research including high levels of self-motivation and self-direction
Able to remain alert at all times and to cope with the variety in visitor numbers, maintaining concentration and enthusiasm during quiet periods
Desirable
Proven experience in a customer or visitor-focused environment
Experience working front of house OR in a customer facing role in a tourist attraction
A fluent second language
Basic Health and Safety awareness
An awareness of access and inclusion issues
Previous experience as a fire marshal
Demonstrable enthusiasm and passion for areas of interest linked to the ArcelorMittal Orbit such as engineering, architecture, sculpture, sport, East London etc
Demonstrable experience of working in a sales environment or to sales targets
Experience of following cash handling procedures
For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
