Job purpose and responsibilities:

The Project Engineer:
• Under the Maintenance Manager’s authority, assists the Project and Mobilization teams during the Design Stage by :
o Reviewing Design principle drawings, as well as reviewing and commenting design drawings from the DBJV partners in the consortium
? Protecting the Operation and Maintenance processes, principles, and procedures by ensuring that the Project Agreement Requirements are met by our Design Partners
? Protecting the Operation and Maintenance processes, principles, and procedures by ensuring that our Specific User Requirements (OMUR) as agreed in the Interface Agreement with the Design and Build Partners are built and integrated in the Project as agreed
o Conceptualizing, drafting and writing the different Maintenance Plans, based on the Project Agreement’s “non design deliverables” list for :
? preventative, corrective, as well as custodial maintenance plans for the Light Rail Operations:
? Infrastructure Maintenance, including the Stations/Stops, the OMSF building, track work, civil works, and streetscaping/landscaping
? Systems maintenance, including the traction power, communications & signal, OMSF equipment, Light Rail Vehicles, and security equipment
/…in order to ensure the quality and the efficiency of the maintenance activities provided by the Maintenance team, the safety of operation and persons and the protection of the environment
• Supports the Operations Team in helping in Design Reviews, drafting of Operational Documentation, processes, and any other Project related task

Project Implementation :
According to best practices, under the Maintenance Manager’s authority, and as part of the Project Team, the Project Engineer shall :
• Participate in the Mobilization Stage, by supporting the Operation and Maintenance teams
• Draft and implement the production of all the necessary documentation (ie. maintenance plans and schedules, general shop rules, maintenance procedures, training manuals, etc.) to support the operation of the Light Rail line
• Participate in Design meetings, review and comment output from DBJV with OMJV’s point of view in mind
• In collaboration with the OMJV Team:
o Support the Team for the testing and commissioning (T&C) stage
o Support the Team in matters and issues related to the Design and Build stages
• Support the Maintenance Manager for all OM&R related matters and issues with the Construction Partners or the Client
• Support the organization for the management of Maintenance Documentation (ranking of the documentation, review process, approval process, etc.)
• Support the Maintenance Manager to ensure all the necessary framework is in place during the pre-operation stage in order to ensure a smooth transition to Operations and Maintenance activities at start of Revenue Service

Profile:

• Engineering or Management Degree
• Support or Maintenance experience in Metro, LRT or Tramway
• 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in a similar project role for a rail transit project of a similar scope
• Former experience in greenfield start-up of transit is an asset
• Operation oriented maintenance, including drafting of maintenance procedures and manuals,
• Testing, commissioning and trial running experience is an asset
