From daily trading on energy markets to energy business and market intelligence, those services cover natural gas, power, carbon credits and other (green) certificates. To strengthen the performance of Air Liquide’s energy activities in Europe, SEGE’s missions are:
? Development of short, mid and long-term energy sourcing strategies in close collaboration with European Affiliates, notably in the area of leading the Air Liquide energy transition
? Energy supply & services by managing risk and optimizing energy exposure.
? Portfolio management: counterparty reviews, contract negotiation, market monitoring and execution of transactions under validated sourcing strategies
SEGE is an international team of 15 skilled professionals with international background, leveraging flexibility and mindset of a small size company while being at the core of Air Liquide’s business model. It is organized as a trading desk with front, middle and back office. This VIE position is placed with the Energy Managers in the Front Office, focusing on markets, operations and developing new energy solutions.
Job position/Mission:
One of the main deliverables of the mission is to develop an innovative tool that comprises a map of the energy management strategies and the exposure of the portfolio to the commodity prices. This internal tool will allow the applicant, SEGE and other stakeholders in Air Liquide to develop hedging proposals for existing strategies as well as generate ideas and recommendations for new energy management solutions. Ultimately, the tool will become part of the SEGE dashboards for visualising exposures in the Front Office to provide insight on a recurring basis. This mission requires the European Energy Analyst to learn and develop to:
? Work within a complex and constantly evolving energy market environment
? Develop and upgrade a set of tools (analysis, visualization, live-monitorings) to optimize energy portfolio management , enhance decision-making and improve performance in execution of energy strategies
? Build and communicate recommendations about existing and new strategies, based on your understanding and analysis in close cooperation with the Front Office team.
? Develop a deep understanding of the energy markets and the impact of market developments on Air Liquide’s energy strategies and results.
? Work closely together with your SEGE colleagues and members of many different departments, geographies and business lines of Air Liquide
During his/her mission, the candidate will get the chance to participate in various energy management projects and get a real hands-on experience in the energy world as part of a great, young and multinational team.

Position based in Brussels, Belgium for an initial period of 12 months, extendable.
