Job description
City Year is a youth social movement that seeks to reduce educational inequality. City Year's Volunteer Mentors are between the ages of 18-25 and they work as near peer mentors to pupils in schools in disadvantaged areas.
Acting as near peer mentors and role models our Volunteer Mentors:
1. Run before and after school clubs
2. Inspire a love of education through working in classrooms
3. Provide pupils support during break and lunch times
4. Organise and carry out 1 to 1 support to help those who need it most
City Year also focuses on the development of its Volunteers:
1. Specialist training to prepare them for school and beyond;
2. Mentoring and networking opportunities with our corporate partners;
3. Career guidance
The skills our Volunteers develop:

5. Organisation
6. Self-awareness
Desired profile
In order to be eligible, applicants must:
1. Have a minimum level 3 qualification in any subject
2. Be eligible to live and work in the UK without a sponsorship visa
3. Live within commuting distance to our partner schools in London
4. Be between 18-25 years old upon commencement of the programme
