Cisco's Mobility Business Group (MBG) is comprised of four business entities: Mobile Internet Technology Group (MITG), Self-Organizing Networks (SON), Policy and Small Cell Technology Group (SCTG). MBG's vision is to enable the Mobile Network to be the de-facto platform for connectivity, applications and value creation.


The Small Cell Technology Group (SCTG) in Cisco Systems was formed after the acquisition of Ubiquisys in May 2013. SCTG is focused on extending coverage and capacity, thus enabling mobile operators to monetize and optimize their overall infrastructure. SCTG delivers products and solutions as part of the Cisco Mobility Architecture. The Small Cell Solution focuses on both licensed (3G/4G) and unlicensed (SP Wi-Fi) deployments.


Role and Responsibilities


You will head up global engineering for their rapidly expanding Mobility / Small Cell Division (Small Cell, Femtocell, LTE, Macrocell, 4G, 5G, RAN) with 400+ employees and a £multimillion P+L based across the UK, USA and India. You will work in a fast paced environment with the ability to truly shape you career with a high level of autonomy. The challenge will be to build the Mobility division into the global leader through both organic growth and acquisition. Initially the role will require you to lead and manage the global engineering function and product development. The next challenge will require you to take over the commercial part pf the business and step up as VP / General Manager for the divisional globally.



• Leading global engineering team of software and hardware engineers span across different locations worldwide


• Work with C-level clients across the Mobility/Telco sector globally to deliver world class mobility solutions


• Partnering with Product Management to ensure the team has a clear strategic direction and roadmap


• Responsibility for the full product lifecycle


• Resource allocation for key projects


• Coaching staff to develop their full potential


• Project oversight – ability to break through complexity to find simple solutions


• Managing risk and issues


Qualifications


• Extensive background in Software Engineering, preferably within multi-national environments


• Experience in managing large and complex engineering functions within the telco or mobility area


• Understanding of the small cell / mobility business with the ability to drive the product development to address customer needs


• Experience in building and managing a diverse team, both onshore and offshore


• Ability to work in a complex organization


• An exceptional mentor and leader with a passion for continuous improvement


• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly


• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to provide creative solutions


• Pro-active, flexible and a people person


• Excellent organisation and communication skills
