Cisco SON Suite, is a leading multi-vendor multi-technology (MVMT) self-optimizing network (SON) solution, it is a powerful set of applications that automates the Radio Access Network (RAN) to help Mobile Operators dramatically boost performance, harmonize multiple technologies and maximize the capabilities of their existing infrastructure



The Team


Cisco is seeking an AS SON Engineer to work within the Global Mobility team to help customers maximize network Optimization and functionality to achieve their business goals. The SE (SON Engineer) delivers the technologies, solutions and services customers need to implement SON Products, solutions and expertly optimizing their networks. In this role, you will be "Cisco's face to the customer," working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering on our commitments



Role and Responsibilities:


The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, comfortable with challenging the status quo. With a seasoned mix of broad RF and Networking knowledge and excellent Customer facing skills, you're well positioned to become a trusted advisor capable of building solid, long-term relationships with customers.


● Work with the Customer to determine and agree how SON will be integrated into the Network


● Follow SON Platform’s operation in customer networks and analyze performance and operational status


● Troubleshoot problems of SON cluster in OS , hardware (blade servers , VM environment atc ) level


● Perform upgrades and migrations of the SON cluster by means of hardware and software


● Manage the technical relationship with the Customer and provide Knowledge Transfer and training



Minimum qualifications:


● Experienced network engineer with extensive knowledge of IP, MPLS LAN / WAN design and deployment


● Extensive knowledge of L2 and L3 routing and switching design and implementation, troubleshooting etc


● Experience of using, Mongo, Debian Linux , Cisco Switches


● Experienced in System Acceptance Testing


● Hands on experience in OSS and SNMP protocol integration



Desired Skills:


● Experience in a Wireless Environment – Probably gained with a vendor or mobile operator


● Knowledge of LTE /3G network architecture as well as ecosystem elements – OSS, RNC, Node B, Femto


● Cisco Certification a plus
