Summer Internship - Data Science for Clinical Big Data in Medical ImagingContexteContext : 
The University Hospital Center from the canton of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research and training.
The intern will work on improving a batch-query interface to a very large repository of medical images (PACS server, containing more than 1 million images, many of them 3- or 4-dimensional, representing 100 Terabytes). This interface will be used to feed data to a large scale machine learning pipeline used to build clinical decision support systems.MissionThe intern will be supervised by medical imaging big data specialists at Siemens Healthcare and Lausanne University Hospital. This internship is a chance for students interested in data science to work with some of the largest, most challenging, and clinically relevant datasets today.ProfilProfile : 
The intern should be an engineering student (computer science, communication systems, electricity, or other suitable fields) with a good background in Python and knowledge of the Linux ecosystem (e.g. bash scripting). Experience with DICOM networking is a plus but not required.
