Postdoctoral position in Neuroscience / ElectrophysiologyContexteThe Centre hospitalier universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) is one of the five university hospitals in Switzerland. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical research and training.
The Center for Psychiatric Neuroscience conducts translationnal research on several psychiatric diseases including schizophrenia, drug addiction, anxiety disorders, depression, and Alzheimer’s disease.Mission
You integrate a multidisciplinary research group studying the role of oxidative stress in the etiology of schizophrenia with the goal of developing novel therapeutic approaches
You develop, conduct, and analyze electrophysiological experiments in animal models relevant to schizophrenia
You write reports and manuscripts related to your research activities
You interact with clinical researchers
You participate in the training/support of students at the laboratory.
Profil
You have a recent PhD degree in Neurosciences, Cellular and/or Molecular Biology, or related area
You have a strong theoretical and practical background in electrophysiology (patch clamp)
Practical experience on viral vector injections, optogenetic techniques, and/or in-vivo recordings would be an asset
You are an autonomous person with a good sense of initiative, curiosity, creativity, and perseverance
You have good communication skills
You have good written and oral English skills (French would be an asset).
