Overview

Working in the Brentwood office this will role will be supporting the claims team. The role will involve administrative work as well as technical claims and insurance work. There will be contact with a variety of internal and external customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilties

  • To provide cover to sort the post each day in to new claims and other post. All new claims to be passed to Section Manager / Supervisor for coding. New claims can also come in by e-mail, and broker files from all brokers. Pass to Section Manager / Supervisor for coding
  • Process all new claims in the claims system with correct cause codes
  • Obtain policy wording/slip from the Underwriting file or computer system
  • 24 hour contact is made by via e-mail
  • Claim file is passed back to the examiner
  • Respond ing to queries from Claims Examiners, OSD members and other Chubb employees using sound business judgment and knowledge of Chubb
  • Provide secretarial, administrative and technical support to your team of Claims Examiners i.e., photocopying, filing each day, answering the telephone updating logs and any other jobs required.
  • Contact brokers when required via e-mail, telephone or correspondence
  • Incoming cheques - to complete relevant form, check that ECHO entry is done and correct. Pass form to Treasury on same day for banking. Workstation to be noted when this has been done
  • Maintain and update access database e.g. new claims/reserve/payments for PYV Fishburns. Track files and monthly reports
  • Maintain spreadsheets for examiners.
  • Projects for the Section Manager as required


Key Skills and Experience

The individual should have a positive attitude be a fast learner. They must be self-motivated and able to prioritise under their own initiative. They should be an articulate communicator with a good telephone manner and have strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with a broad base of internal and external customers. They should be a team player able to work well within a team but also individually. The individual should be responsive, able and willing to quickly judge situations and offer opinions. They should be quality minded with a strong attention to detail and thoroughness.

  • c. 2 years+ administration experience
  • c.1 year+ experience in Claims
