Job description
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for providing analysis and reporting primarily to support the e-commerce sales cycle, with a strong focus on the Luxury cluster, updating and maintaining client and object data integrity, and providing Business Intelligence support to the Luxury departments.
Key Responsibilities (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
Sale Support:
Based in London, the successful candidate for this role will be responsible for supporting Online Sales across all regions, with a particular focus on the Luxury cluster, namely Watches and Wine:-
- Provide distribution criteria for - e-marketing and direct mail, using artist searches (if required by the CSD) and any other relevant information
- Identify potential consignors for e-commerce sales using Christie's systems
- Identify potential buyers by researching comparable past lots that were offered for sale using Christie's systems and add relevant clients to the interest list
- Create targeting lists for potential buyers and send emails to relevant Client Team Leaders (CTLs) and colleagues to ensure potential buyers are alerted to the relevant lots in the sale
- Provide criteria for guest lists for any events associated with the sale, as required
- Work with the e-commerce team to track interest and bids throughout the sale to inform the approach to targeting as the sale unfolds e.g. noting where lots are quiet
- Attend auctions and co-ordinate 'spotting' to ensure bidder activity is entered into the client database (COS)
- Prepare post-sale analysis and reports and ensure they are available in a timely manner
- Arrange and run post-sale debrief including following-up action points with Specialists
- Collaborate with wider CSBI team and departments to support online sales for other clusters as required
Data Management:
- Responsible for ensuring Christie's Client Database (COS) and all internal systems are accurate and up-to-date with information that is gathered through performing this role
- Collate and maintain relevant lists for Client Strategy Director
- Assist with interviewing specialists and other client-facing staff to gather Client and Object data, maintain minutes and follow-up action points and ensures the data is entered into COS
- Assist with Regional reviews in conjunction with departmental Specialists and Regional Representatives
- Ensure all object information is entered in the database including any relevant valuation (single or multiple objects) to support our pipeline business
- Generates regular reports for Client Strategy Director as required
- Maintains wish lists for future reporting and targeting
Administration support:
- Provide bespoke information for Client Strategy Director and BIM as required
- Provide support to Client Strategy Director and BIM as required
Skills and Experience required:
- At least 2 years work experience in a commercial environment, particularly working with data
- A strong interest and affinity for online and e-commerce landscape and technologies
- Bachelor's degree (as a minimum) in relevant subject
- Fluency in English, and Mandarin additionally preferred.
- Advanced user of Excel and Power Point
- An appreciation and understanding of Luxury industries and markets
- Attention to detail with strong accuracy skills and process analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative as well as being strong team player, working collaboratively
- Excellent communicator - verbal & written
- Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Enthusiastic approach to continuous improvement and best practise
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy
