Senior Business Finance Business Analyst (Corporate Office & IT Functions focus)

CHANEL Asia’s business composed of several Markets and Divisions will continue to evolve and accelerate. In order to support and challenge business management, Business Finance must provide an accurate translation of the performance and financial position of the region.
To provide this transversal, holistic and accurate vision Business Finance must coordinate the efforts of local and regional teams and collaborate with the Global team.

PARTNERSHIP WITH CORPORATE FUNCTIONS:

·  Monitor and enforce the adoption of budget and forecast guidelines by the functions in scope;

·  Coordinate, challenge and ensure consistency between local markets and regional priorities;

·  Provide transversal (cross divisions, cross markets) ad hoc analysis to business partners;

·  Conduct consolidation activities (departmental expenses, project costs..) at Regional level to provide accurate and timely information to the Management;

·  Support the Head of BF TDS on consolidating, measuring and challenging TECH expenses in APAC;

·  Liaise with Global IT controlling for Global recharges booking and payment, regular reporting, and other ad-hoc analysis;

·  Work closely with Finance Systems team to align reporting needs with system support;

·  Work closely with Accounting team to advise on reclassifications and ensure reporting accuracy;

·  Ensure data quality of the information provided and establish best-practices working closely with the business stakeholders;

·  Support the forecast preparation end-to-end;

·  Consolidate monthly reports and commentaries.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Support to oversee the overall governance, end-to-end process and development of Budget and Forecasts for the supporting functions in scope;

·  Preparation of planning and forecasts of various planning and reporting cycles, together with stakeholders;

·  Oversee all cost variances and exposure to help CHANEL manage its margin and economic expenses;

·  Design and perform ad-hoc analysis, incorporating checks and balances to ensure data integrity;

·  Review and challenge KPI and review results;

·  Monitor financial and operational performance via KPIs and automated / self-serviced reports to support business decision making;

·  Able to analyze and explain the variance between budgeted and actual financial results at Regional level and challenge Markets;

·  Act as a subject matter expert and apply innovative system implications to support data quality and help to improve business performance;

·  Design necessary reporting templates for business and budget owners to achieve efficient and effective forecast;

·  Support and coach others in the functionality and application of technological tools;

·  Demonstrate understanding in the definition, hierarchy, maintenance and updates of CHANEL’s Chart of Accounts and financial dimensions;

Academic / Professional Qualifications

·  University degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Administration or related disciplines preferred

·  Thorough knowledge of accounting / financial planning & analysis concepts and principles 

Work Experience

·  Minimum 2 years working experience;

·  Experience with Controlling and Budget Analysis and hands on experience with Finance systems;

·  Previous experience in commercial industry and/or audit.

·  Excellent command of MS Excel, analytical and creative problem-solving skills;

·  Hands on experience with IBM Planning & Analytics tool (TM1), Hyperion tools (HFM, Planning & Analytics) and/or other consolidation and reporting tools is a definitive advantage

·  Fluent English is required
