Job description
We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our UK Legal Team; this role is a 12-month fixed term contract , which may become permanent.
Based at our Croydon office (you will also spend time at our head office in Mayfair). You will play a key role in supporting and assisting a busy generalist in-house legal team across all areas of the business, with a strong focus on compliance and data protection and tech and innovation too.
What you’ll do
Supporting a small legal team of three, you will have a wide range of responsibilities which will include:
Legal & Regulatory Support:
· Assisting with drafting legal documents, policies, procedures and correspondence
· Preparing legal research and presenting findings
· Preparing template contracts, NDAs and data addendums (potential for wider scope here depending upon experience)
· Reviewing contracts, including documenting key contractual clauses and summarising key legal risks
· Assisting with compliance work, including audits, arranging training (including managing e-learning tool) of the business
· Management of product notifications to the new UK Cosmetics Portal
· Membership of Global Legal Team Support Staff Group
Administrative:
· Act as the key coordinator for the Legal Team (preparation of presentations (including PowerPoint), minutes, spreadsheets and reports as well as management and organisation of filing)
· Help implement and automate team policies and processes
· Administrator for team tools: document management and data privacy management systems (including facilitating electronic signatures and filing all contracts within the legal document management system)
· Project managing the distribution of new legal policies and attendance by the business of Legal training
· Management of new company secretarial tool (Diligent)
· Co-ordination of local insurance renewals
· Assist with budget management, accounting and invoicing
Leveraging your unique experiences, Chanel will enable you to develop
· Legal research and knowledge skills, particularly in the areas of compliance and data protection
· File management and legal software expertise
· Project management and organisational skills
Skills required
· Have at least 3 years’ experience in a paralegal position at a law firm or in-house
· Data Protection and compliance experience preferred but not essential
· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Be tech-savvy; have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (0365 Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and be keen to learn the use of new tools.
· Knowledge of legal tech tools preferred but not essential.
